Torchbearers

In 2023, Sakura Foundation was invited to participate in Torchbearers, based in Los Angeles, CA.  Presented by the Go For Broke National Education Center, the mission of the Torchbearers is to steward the Go For Broke spirit through civic dialogue, engagement with emerging social issues, and building an inclusive community.  The national partners of the program are from Denver, Maui, Honolulu, Chicago, Vermont, and San Francisco, who join the Los Angeles Torchbearers at the program kick off with a convening in Little Tokyo.  This space allows the participants of any ethnicity age 20 to 30, to Listen, Empathize, and Engage with each other around social dynamics that individuals and communities experience across the nation. Such dynamics include topics of privilege, discrimination, and collaboration.  Details about the program can be found here.

APPLICATION

To apply for the 2024 cohort which begins in April 2024, please complete the application no later than February 29, 2024. A limited number of spaces are reserved for our Denver cohort. For more information contact info@sakurafoundation.org.
